Musica per... Music for Ivan

Musica per... adds an extra sparkle to our visual arts launch with a programme of music for voice, oboe and strings inspired by the work of artist Ivan Leudar. Ivan’s work, a selection of which will be on display, consists of large painted screens, using natural products such as seaweed and sand. Music to include Schubert, Jacob, Mozart and a new work by Jinny Shaw.

Chris McCully is back in Manchester to read from his latest poetry collection. Formerly teaching at Manchester University, he now lives, writes and fishes in the Netherlands. MC copland smith.

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHT

Eco Fashion Show in partnership with OXFAM Chorlton

Oxfam Chorlton presents a fashion show using garments made from recycled fabrics and clothing. They are collaborating with fashion students and up and coming local designers in creating on-trend pieces from items that cannot be sold in Oxfam. The show aims to promote sustainable fashion and demonstrate how to recycle clothing in an exciting and contemporary way.

AH HA! Theatre Company

Following a successful performance of Small Pleasures last year, AH HA! Theatre Company is back with a new comedy about celebrity bullying. Big Cheese shows us that we mere mortals just don’t understand the pressure celebrities are under. Think on. After this you’ll need to check into rehab.
