Duo Reul Recital
Location:The Edge Theatre and Arts Centre
Saturday 28 May, 2016 - 12.30 and 14.00
Scottish duo Cressida McKay Frith (flute) and Steaphanaidh Chaimbeul (harp) are currently undergraduate students at the Royal Northern College of Music. This recital presents movements from Piazzolla’s ‘Histoire du Tango’ – an exciting journey through tango during the 20th century. The program will also include Bernard Andres’ ‘Narthex’ and a newly-commissioned work by RNCM composer, Carmel Smickersgill ‘I Have to Return Some Video Tapes.’ The piece is inspired by Bret Easton Ellis’ novel, ‘American Psycho’ and complements the Piazzolla in its extended use of rhythm.
In 2015 Duo Reul were finalists in the inaugural British Harp Chamber Music Competition.in category music
