Festival Saturday + Art and Craft Fair

Join us for the official opening of the festival with our Art and Craft Fair plus a day packed with entertainment for all the family. There will be a range of bespoke jewellery, personalised gifts, photography, framed art work and more on sale – all within the wonderful setting of St Clement’s Church, plus additional stalls outside including food and drink.

We will also be presenting a programme of entertainment for all the family throughout the day:

11:30 – 12:00: Levy Uke Up and Levy Chorus: An up-beat and unique performance featuring lots of ukuleles and an all-female choir
11:30 – 13:00: (Mis)information Desk: An improvised theatre performance featuring ‘desk workers’ who provide correct, misleading and irrelevant information…
12:00 – 16:00: Matombo Tombo demonstration: Come along and discover the art of stone carving using traditional techniques with the Oldham Stone Carvers
12:00 – 14:00: Gizmobots workshop: Want to learn how to make robots? Join artist Mark Haig of Gizmobots to create a cute little robot that you can take home with you in this fun drop-in workshop
13:30 – 15:00: (Mis)information Desk
14:00 – 15:00: Three Bees Co-op talk and demonstration: Hear about the fascinating life of bees, plus a beehive demonstration
15:00 – 15:45: North and South Duo: Popular music duo performing a range of classic and catchy songs
15:45 – 16:30: Craft workshops: Finish the day with some hands-on craft making workshops, from jewellery to textiles (drop-in)

Throughout the day, creative arts organisation ‘Arc’ will hosting a free, drop-in workshop – ‘miniature masterpieces’, in their fabulous outdoor dome. Using a range of drawing materials on 10cm square paper, you can add to their art installation that will grow over the course of the day. They will be on hand to help with ideas and art materials – so you can have fun, be creative and make a mini piece of art that you’re truly proud of. Arc will also have a stall with artwork for sale and information about workshops and exhibitions which they will be running over the next few months.

Arc is a creative arts organisation specialising in mental health, wellbeing and community development which provides accessible opportunities for people to experience high quality creative projects.
