Levy Uke Up
Thursday 26 May, 2016 - 19.30
2016 marks the first year Levy Uke Up have performed as part of the festival, and we’re sure it won’t be the last.
This Levenshulme-based ukulele / vocal group was established four years ago and performs a range of music from the 1920s up to the current day across a mix of genres including; blues, jazz, pop, rock, ska, reggae, punk and a smattering of Northern Soul. For the festival, the group will showcase a medley of numbers – expect chipper songs and kazoo silliness – and remember, audience participation is most welcome!
As well as performing at Proof, Levy Uke Up will also be performing at St Clement’s Church as part of Festival Saturday (Sat 21st) in collaboration with all-female choir, Levy Chorus.
Levy Uke Up practice at the South Manchester British Legion on the 2nd and last Sunday of every month.
