Sonic Bliss Machine is an alternative rock band from Manchester. Likened to The Flaming Lips by BBC Introducing, the band’s sound revolves around an eclectic mix of influences that range from shoegaze, to surfey psychedelia. The bands last two singles “Stepping on Your Toes” and “Mind, Body & Soul” have been endorsed by the likes of BBC introducing, All FM, Blossoms and Silent Radio. They have also supported up and coming alternative acts Bully, Kidwave and Fraser A Gorman. Having honed their set across a string of gigs in Manchester and Leeds, SBM were described by Flat Plastic promotions as one of the top 5 bands in 2015.
Red Light Effect formed in 2015 following a twist of fate. The band have since risen to prominence on the Manchester scene. They have been tipped as ‘Ones to Watch’ by many local blogs. Their debut single ‘Phosphorus’ was picked by RadioX as the first ‘Shock of the New’ 2016.
Kurtis Starkie is a Manchester based singer/songwriter and has written and performed music with bands including Belief System and currently The Slow Readers Club. Comparisons have been made to Jeff Buckley, Morrissey and more but there is a unique quality to his music. There is an overriding melancholic feel with an often rather insular lyrical content, yet there’s a directness to his work that makes for something both instant and memorable. There are plans for a new EP in 2016 which will be supported by some live dates.in category music
