The Eblana String Trio

Chorlton Central Church

Saturday 28 May, 2016 - 13.00

Formed at the RNCM in 2006, Manchester’s Eblana String Trio are committed to performing the often neglected string trio repertoire along with frequent collaborations with other instrumentalists.

This event sees them performing two pillars of the chamber music repertory, both by Arnold Schoenberg: the ‘String Trio’ which was one of his last works, composed in 1946 in response to a near fatal heart attack and the earlier, deeply romantic sextet ‘Verklarte Nacht’ (Transfigured Night), a piece inspired by Richard Dehmel’s poem of the same name.
