Music at Lunchtime: Trio Harundines
Trio Harundines are a wind group comprising oboe, clarinet and bassoon. They will be playing a programme of light, classical music including Cinq Pieces En Trio by Jacques Ibert, Suite por Trio d’Anches, by Alexandre Tansman, Cinq Divertissements by Mozart and Pastorale by Darius Milhaud.

A new and exciting group of local musicians perform chamber works by Corelli, Mozart and Britte, concluding with Bach’s celebrated Third Brandenburg Concerto. Also included is a performance of
Bach’s Partita in A minor for Solo Flute, played by acclaimed international recorder soloist, Christopher Orton.

Manchester Road Players: A Chorus of Disapproval
This year’s dramatic offering from the Chorlton-based theatre company sees Alan Ayckbourn making fun of his own profession in his twentieth play. ‘A Chorus of Disapproval’ centres around an amateur production of John Gay’s ‘The Beggar’s Opera’. A play within a play, it shows how the lives of ordinary folk can be surprisingly eventful.

The Maerlock, John Fairhurst and Ben Calvert
If folk music’s your things then this is one not to miss. Headliner and geek folk hero, Jeremy Walmsley sings songs from his new album on Transgressive Records. The Maerlock, who release their debut album on Fellside Records in June, blend flavours of jazz and funk sitting alongside the folk traditions of the British Isles, Europe and beyond.

Tonights line-up is completed by new-age blue guitarist John Fairhurst and Ben Calvert.

Yitzak!

Late Night CAF: Deeper Soul
Deeper Soul formed in a café in Longsight in 2005 around the voice of Annette Gregory King, with the mission of total musical fulfillment and world domination!
Fast forward three years and Deeper Soul is a tight nine piece band with full brass section, sweet vocal harmonies and that strong, exquisite voice. Equally at home punching out hand picked dance classics or their own material, Deeper Soul will make your party rock.
